Ingredients:
1 chocolate cake mix, 2-layer size
2 cups whipping cream
2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons Kirsch
1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
1 oz. shaved chocolate
Preparation:
- Bake cake according to directions on the box in a 9x13x2 inch pan. Slice in half length wise to make 2 layers.
- Beat the whipping cream with the confectioners’ sugar and vanilla.
- Moist the two parts of the cake with Kirsch.
- Spread one cake layer with 3/4 cup of the whipped cream. Top with 1/2 of the cherry pie filling. Set top layer on.
- Spread the side of the cake with 1/2 of the remaining whipped cream. Spoon remaining pie filling on top of cake, keeping it in the center.
- Decorate with the cream and grated chocolate.
