
Ingredients:
CRUST:
1 baked 9-inch pie shell
FILLING:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups milk
4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
3 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
4 ripe bananas, sliced
1 baked 9 inch pie crust
TOPPING:
whipped cream
Preparation:
1. Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and milk. Cook and stir untill thickened.
2. Gradually stir 1 cup of the hot mixture into the slightly beaten egg yolks. Return mixture to saucepan and cook for 3 more minutes.
3. Stir in vanilla and butter.
4. Place the sliced bananas on top of the pie crust. Pour filling on top.
5. Bake in a 350 F (175 C) oven for 15 minutes. Cool completely.
6. Refrigerate until serving time. Serve topped with whipped cream.
